With the San Antonio Spurs just two weeks away from tipping off the preseason slate, we’re more than ready for a huge October of sports in San Antonio! • You and your pup can help raise money for SNIPSA at the Alamo Heights Swimming Pool on Saturday by racing in the 19th Annual Race for the Rescues!

• Two San Antonio-area squads square off for some Saturday evening football when Texas State battles UIW at UFCU Stadium.

• Owen McCown and the Roadrunners take the Alamodome field for a Hispanic Heritage night matchup with Colorado State on Saturday night!

According to ESPN, the league noted that “approximately one million fans registered interest in tickets,” marking a new record for NBA demand in Europe. • College Sports Report: Ahead of the San Antonio versus San Marcos showdown between UIW and Texas State this weekend, the Cardinals took down Houston Christian in an overtime thriller last weekend.
