Spurs legendary coach Gregg Popovich stepped down as the team’s head coach, while remaining its president. Mitch Johnson, the team’s interim head coach throughout Popovich’s medical leave this year, has been named the new head coach. “I’m no longer coach. I’m El Jefe,” Popovich said in a presser announcing the change on Monday.
Last season’s NL Rookie of the Year Jackson Merrill helped propel the San Antonio Missions to victory over the weekend as part of his rehab stint for a hamstring injury.
